The Arizona Court Interpreters Association cordially invites you to join us for the final event of 2024 – The 2024 Winter Plenary!

We are excited to celebrate and gather for the final event of the year – The 2024 Winter Plenary, where all language professionals in the court interpreting world can come together to learn, connect, and celebrate. This year’s Winter Plenary includes a dynamic event, featuring informative sessions, networking opportunities, and a festive holiday lunch. Whether you’re looking to deepen your knowledge, earn CEUs, or simply enjoy a great day with colleagues, we look forward to seeing you there!

Veronica B Munoz. Staff interpreter for the Executive Office for Immigration Review, Department of Justice. Previously worked for Maricopa Superior Court as a staff interpreter and also as a freelancer translator, court interpreter, and conference interpreter. Certified interpreter for California and Tier 4 in Arizona. Federal Certification is in process. Native from Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico with a degree in Chemical Engineering (Mexico) and a master's in business administration (University of Texas). Hobbies include hiking, outdoor activities, and pickleball. 

 

Judith Costello began interpreting in the Arizona Courts in 2002 and has been the staff interpreter and interpreter coordinator for the Courts in Coconino County, Arizona since 2014. She holds a Nevada Court Interpreter Certification and Arizona Court Interpreter Credential. She taught Spanish, Latin American Studies, and Cinema Studies at Northern Arizona University from 1989-2014.


José García was encouraged to become a court interpreter by the late Honorable Ditsworth, a friend of the García family. In 2007 Judge Ditsworth saw the court interpreter potential in him and pointed him in the right direction. As a result, José begin his academic journey by attending Mesa Community College, the University of Arizona, National Center for Interpretation, and the Southern California School of Interpretation. In 2020 he obtained his AC in Language Studies graduating with the Highest Distinction. In 2019 he obtained his ACICP Credentialing as a Spanish interpreter. José had the pleasure of working for Court Administration in Yavapai County Superior Court and currently works for Maricopa County Superior Court. He has been an ACIA member since 2014, and he currently serves as the ACIA Secretary.

Spanish fideo: Vermicelli sautéed with tomatoes, peppers, garlic and chicken stock Seasonal roasted vegetable Skillet roasted potatoes with olive oil.

 

Dessert: Tiramisu.
