ARIZONA COURT INTERPRETER ASSOCIATION (ACIA)
ACIA was founded in 1980 by a group of staff interpreters from Superior Court in Maricopa County. It has since grown to include interpreters from all over the state. ACIA is the only statewide court interpreter association in Arizona. The majority of current members are practicing interpreters and translators who provide language services to our various court systems in over 25 spoken languages and American Sign Language. The Association is dedicated to offering training and education through workshops and seminars; serving as an interpreters' network for sharing ideas, experiences, knowledge and employment opportunities with colleagues; and providing a standard of professional conduct and professional code of ethics.
CEU INFORMATION: The Arizona Court Interpreter Association (ACIA) is an ACICP preapproved provider for court interpreter continuing education offerings. Interpreters are strongly encouraged to select activities that are directly related to the duties of court interpreters or the justice system, and which meet the requirements described in ACJA § 7-301 to earn CEU credit.
